Our commitment to you

Privacy, in plain English.

Because Setl exists to change how families are treated by property brokers — and that starts with how we treat your information.

You gave us your details so we could help you find a home. Not so we could sell your number to a hundred other brokers, or spam you for years, or hound you into a decision. That's not how we do things.

What we collect

When you fill our consultation form, we collect four things: your name, mobile number, the area you're interested in, and your budget and timeline. That's it. Nothing else. We don't ask for your PAN, your Aadhaar, your income proof, or your bank details at this stage — that only happens later if you decide to move forward with a specific property, and even then, only with your explicit permission.

When you visit our website, our host (Hostinger) automatically logs basic technical information — your approximate location, browser type, and pages you visited. This is standard for any website and helps us understand what's working. It is not tied to your identity.

What we do with it

We call you back — once — to understand what you're looking for. If you're a fit for our service and want to move forward, we connect you with a Setl specialist for your target area. If you're not a fit, or if you're not ready, we tell you honestly and step back. No follow-up chains, no drip campaigns, no scheduled harassment.

Your information is stored securely in our internal systems (Google Workspace, a form submission service called Web3Forms, and our internal client tracker). Only Setl team members handling your inquiry can see it.

What we don't do

Setl does not do any of the following, ever:

Who else touches your data

To run Setl, we use a small number of third-party services. Each of them is bound by their own privacy commitments, and we picked them because they're reputable and take security seriously:

How long we keep your information

If you become a Setl client and complete a transaction, we keep your file for as long as reasonably required by Indian tax and property law — typically seven years. If you inquire but don't proceed, we keep your details for up to 24 months in case you return, then delete them.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing hello@getsetl.in. We will do so within seven working days, keeping only what we are legally required to retain.

Cookies and tracking

Our website currently does not use analytics cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party marketing pixels. If we add analytics tools in the future (such as basic visitor counting), we will disclose it here and provide a way to opt out. We will never install trackers that follow you across other websites.

If something goes wrong

If we ever suffer a data breach that affects your information, we will tell you within 72 hours of discovering it, explain what happened, and tell you what we are doing about it. Not because a law forces us to — because that's how we would want to be treated ourselves.

Your rights

You can, at any time, ask us to:

Email hello@getsetl.in with your request. A real human — usually the founder himself, at this stage of Setl — will respond within three working days.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy in a meaningful way, we will note the change here and, if you are an active client, we will let you know directly. We will not make changes and quietly hope you don't notice.
